After nearly a week of wracking my brain, I have finally decided on my new blog name! There were so many things to consider. Is it original? Is it catchy? Is it easy to remember? Can it be pronounced? Will I have to keep explaining what it means? *cough* Unpaid Maid *cough* Is it cute? Will I get a .com? Is the Twitter handle, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, etc. taken… My head was spinning!
But most of all, I had to find something that reflected me. So here’s what I brainstormed about myself:
> Talkative / Blabbing / Rambler
> Not so country girl in a country setting, but nowhere near city girl… what AM I???
> Lover of lime green & tangerine orange, but definitely not a girly girl. WTF
> I love coffee. Strong. Sweet. Powerful. Mmmmm… I would married it. Waiting for the proposal.
> Cats. I could easily be a crazy cat lady. But… umm… calling myself a cat or kitty/kitten isn’t exactly… yeah… moving on…
> NOT a supermom but mom of a superhero (My son’s name is Kalel. Pst… Kal-El is superman’s name.)
> NOT a trophy wife. I’m wearing jeans, an over-sized black men’s t-shirt (that belongs to me, not my husband), no makeup, messy bun, 30-40 lbs overweight, and making up excuses not to do the dishes.
I was going to go with Salt In My Coffee, but it is already taken by this awesome blogger right here:
Salt in my Coffee – Celebrating a Simple Life
So… back to the drawing board. I tried to come up with something completely unique, but I was just in LOVE with the name SaltInMyCoffee. I wanted my own .com (COMING SOON!) but it was taken, obviously. So after arguing with myself about at least 20,184 blog names, I finally decided to go back to the one I loved, with a bit of a twist.
Salt in my Latte
Much better than The Unpaid Maid! I mean, let’s face it. I’m not much of a maid. The reason I wasn’t get paid had nothing to do with being a stay at home mom. It was the unfolded laundry, pile of dishes, and dust that I swear gives the house a country feel. No judging. I’m not lazy. I’m just too awesome to get dirt under my (chewed off) nails.
Now a word from my son:

Well said, Kalel.

Great name! Have you actually put salt in your coffee? I bet that tasted bad.

LOL Yes I have! I thought it was sugar. But point of fact, if you put a tiny pinch in your coffee, it will take away the bitterness. 2-3 teaspoons however…. YUCK! :D
